lua is now able to implement new exporters and it is actually a feature
that is in need of more testing...

please look into the wiki (and my previous mail about lua) on how to do
it.... you can also ask me any questions on lua, either here or on IRC

if you ask questions here, please always attach the lua script you are
working on, since I'll almost always need it to help you

again, you could "cheat with lua" by intercepting the "new image imported"
event, do whatever you want in there, then import the DNG in.

this is a bit clunky but should work. a better alternative (to avoid
importing the raw => dropping the raw => importing the dng) would need a
pre-import event which we don't have. I'll add it to my todo list
