In fact I have a lua script that does everything. In my export dialog I
have "Print" and this generate a tiff, add the printer profile and call
eog to display and let me print the photo. Not that bad.

Yes, I've been contemplating this... I even sent a message on the list
for help as I cannot do this alone I feel (missing time and expertise on
printer interface on linux), but no volunteer to help so for now I let
this a dream :)
