> Hi Christian, Hi,
> how do you search your photos? Do you do it in DT, or in digikam? Do you use > digikam primarily for photo management? Good question. Most of the time I search in DT for RAWs. But if I order prints once a year, I (we) search in digikam, because there are all my photos from my point and shot too. And I like to have the jpgs separatly. Interestingly there is an older video made by Pascal, where he suggests to 'archive' the photos in a common format like JPG [0]. Because you never know what will happen in the future. So digkam for me is more like an archive. What's missing in digikam is the option to open the according RAW in DT just in case I want to tweak it again, but I guess that would be a task for a LUA script? > I don't have experience with digikam, just have done some reading about it. > Can digikam make use of the metainfo created by DT? Yes, as it will read all exif data including tags from the exported jpgs. As digikam monitors the specified image folders, there is no need to import newly exported photos. One reason why I tag and rate my RAWs in DT is that they are there, if I come back later to edit and export them again. Christian PS.: Workflows are very personell. So this is only my little planets view.
