If one uses (touches) only destinations red, blue and green then everything works as expected. Other destinations has strange semantics (setting value >0 enables some special mode related to current destination it seems) and red slider resets by double-click to 1.0 while default for iop is zero (it's not enforced in the code in general that they must match, but logically they should, and why only red anyway?). So yeah, aside from RGB outputs, channel mixer is broken, or at least poorly documented and illogical.
