Hi,

nvidia supports openCL also for gaming cards (if you mean the CAD/workstation
cards by “commercial cards”). I am happily using darktable and openCL with a
GTX750Ti. But you have to use the nvidia closed source drivers (“commercial”?),
same situation as the Radeon drivers. AFAIK the Radeon cards offer more openCL
power for a similar price, but the nvidia cards are more energy efficient (mine
doesn’t need an extra power plug).

Cheers

Michael

Betreff: [Darktable-users] Using Radeon GPU

I would like to use Darktable to convert NEF images to TIF images and take
advantage of openCL. The problem I'm running into and its mostly my fault is I
don't know if image conversion in this actually leverages openCL or not. I
found that the nvidia support is only for the commercial cards as far as driver
support is concerned. Will I be able to use OpenCL on a non-commercial radeon
card such as an R9-280?
