I think you're confusing proprietary/open-source _drivers_ with the range of graphics cards. Gamer's graphics cards are all the more commercial BTW ;-). I couldn't get my card to use OpenCL using the open-source drivers, but I can't tell if this is me not doing it right or the drivers not supporting OpenCL. OpenCL just worked on the two graphics cards I tried using the proprietary drivers though. I don't see why GTX660 wouldn't work if you set up the drivers properly. > My next question is does anyone know if the file conversion process > leverages OpenCL. NEF is a RAW format, it's not yet a "real image" (not something with RGB channels that you can plug on your screen's RGB channels for example). You need at the very least to apply white balance, tone curve, color matrix and demosaic to get a reasonable image in TIFF format. I wouldn't call that "conversion", but "RAW development". And yes, most of these steps are OpenCL-enabled. Although the name "graphics card", you don't need to use the GUI to exploit OpenCL, the command-line darktable-cli can exploit it just fine too. -- Matthieu Moy http://www-verimag.imag.fr/~moy/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BPM Camp - Free Virtual Workshop May 6th at 10am PDT/1PM EDT Develop your own process in accordance with the BPMN 2 standard Learn Process modeling best practices with Bonita BPM through live exercises http://www.bonitasoft.com/be-part-of-it/events/bpm-camp-virtual- event?utm_ source=Sourceforge_BPM_Camp_5_6_15&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=VA_SF _______________________________________________ Darktable-users mailing list Darktable-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/darktable-users
