absolutely.
I use a hp E241 for every day use and an EIZO CX241 for serious work for 
that reason.
Calibration with xrite i1 and argyll/dispcalGUI on the hp monitor.
I did not get this working on LinuxMint with the EIZO - it always 
complains "invalid primary colors" :(
