LG 27EA83, wide-gamut 27" WQHD IPS. The DisplayPort connection is
somehow buggy: monitor wakeup from screensaver doesn't work that way.
But I don't know if that's the monitor, card, or Linux. Other than
that, I'm happy.

NVidia GTX750Ti (2GB model), with proprietary driver and OpenCL. I don't
think the FOSS drivers support a workable OpenCL, and OpenCL makes a
major difference for dt. I chose the card because it was the fastest
card that doesn't need additional power.

I have borrowed an xrite i1 Display Pro. It is supported by Linux, but
I think the results from the xrite software are better (also the xrite
software supports hardware calibration of the monitor, Linux doesn't).

Probably I would look at the new display models, those seem to be
changing quickly. I would keep the monitor size and the wide gamut
(99%sRGB) IPS technology. And if I was setting up a new system, with
additional power sockets for the graphics card, I might choose a
different card. But I think having any current OpenCL card makes a huge
difference.

Cheers
