I think for the peace of one's mind and the safety of valuable photos it might be best to have the raw/jpg originals always at the same location from where they accessed by darktable. Darktable doesn't change the originals and that way its database stays up-to-date. There is a saying related to any storage system. It is not the question whether it fails, the question is when? For backup-purposes I use three different USB-dives alternatively and have that way always different backups generations. With tools like rsync only changed files are very quickly backed up. cu Peter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Darktable-users mailing list Darktable-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/darktable-users
