I've now done some changes to how this is handled which will enter in effect with darktable 2.0. Here's how it will work: 1) By default all per-camera curves are available to be selected as a preset but do *not* autoapply (like the D90 right now). The reason for this is that if you are using raw getting output that matches the particular out of camera jpg is less important than getting output that is consistent across cameras. 2) There will be a new setting in the prefs that allows the user to enable autoapply after which all per-camera presets will autoapply for new images (eliminating the inconsistency we have right now). 3) If you just want to enable a single preset for a specific camera you can still select the preset and then save a new preset based on that one set to autoapply to only that specific camera. All of this is now available in current git master.
