I still experience regular instances where Darktable stalls on Debian. I have experimented with or without opencl. It does not seem to make any difference regarding this problem.
I see the following on top while Darktable hangs: top - 08:24:12 up 52 min, 6 users, load average: 3.57, 3.47, 3.42 Tasks: 257 total, 3 running, 253 sleeping, 0 stopped, 1 zombie %Cpu(s): 13.6 us, 0.4 sy, 0.0 ni, 72.9 id, 13.1 wa, 0.0 hi, 0.0 si, 0.0 st KiB Mem: 8053248 total, 7819816 used, 233432 free, 308304 buffers KiB Swap: 20479996 total, 2572 used, 20477424 free. 3001952 cached Mem PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 6164 js 20 0 25.195g 2.054g 62772 R 100.1 26.7 20:30.51 darktable In the ~/.config/darktablerc grep opencl .config/darktable/darktablerc opencl=TRUE opencl_async_pixelpipe=false opencl_avoid_atomics=false opencl_checksum=883356682 opencl_device_priority=*/!0,*/*/* opencl_library= opencl_memory_headroom=300 opencl_memory_requirement=768 opencl_micro_nap=1000 opencl_number_event_handles=25 opencl_omit_whitebalance= opencl_size_roundup=16 opencl_synch_cache=false opencl_use_cpu_devices=false opencl_use_pinned_memory=false [sql] prepare "UPDATE images SET width = ?1, height = ?2, maker = ?3, model = ?4, lens = ?5, exposure = ?6, aperture = ?7, iso = ?8, focal_length = ?9, focus_distance = ?10, film_id = ?11, datetime_taken = ?12, flags = ?13, crop = ?14, orientation = ?15, raw_parameters = ?16, group_id = ?17, longitude = ?18, latitude = ?19, color_matrix = ?20, colorspace = ?21, raw_black = ?22, raw_maximum = ?23 WHERE id = ?24" This was the last message when it stalled just now.
