Manufacturer tools *may* have the benefit of actually knowing the
format and being able to rewrite it. I wouldn't bet on it. The people
that built that tool are probably not the same that built the software
in the camera so there will be bugs. The first rule of hardware is
that hardware makers don't know how to write software. :)
