For me it sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't work. It seems to depend on
what lens is attached and in what mode the camera is. Auto focus settings of

Maybe, it would need a bit of work as the focussing is done by the live view
module which doesn't get the mouse events from the central widget, but it's
doable. For the time being you could assign keyboard shortcuts for focussing.
I use left/right arrow as those are the key presses my wireless presenter
(meant for Powerpoint slideshows) is sending. Quite handy.
You can set those in modules->live view.
3. is there a keyboard shortcut for "capture image"?
No, but you can set it in modules->camera settings. I have it triggered by my
presenter, too.
4. live view is off by default if I switch to darkroom for viewing a
captured image and then switch back to tethering. It would be useful if
darktable would remember the live view state. If this is not possible,
it would be useful to have keyboard shortcuts for "toogle live view"?
It's 'v' by default, you can change it in modules->live view.
