you really mean eoszoom is for controlling the *focus*?
I tried
# gphoto2 --get-config eoszoom
Label: Canon EOS Zoom
Type: TEXT
Current: 0
# gphoto2 --set-config eoszoom=3
and then nothing happens.
Afterwards another --get-config still returns 0
# gphoto2 --get-config eoszoom
Label: Canon EOS Zoom
Type: TEXT
Current: 0
