Hi, to get the elevation with given longitude/latitude is very easy with Geotag (http://geotag.sourceforge.net/). Maybe it's possible to do it this way. (http://geotag.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/geotag/Geotag/src/org/fibs/geotag/geonames/AltitudeHandler.java?revision=1.8&view=markup)
