Glad to know my thought was the right one, though probably more by
good luck than by good guidance. Glad to know, too, that you are still
selling DP apps well into the 21st century.
Like you, I haven't written any new DP apps for several years.
Because my business has substantially evolved out of the computer field,
it's unlikely that I shall be writing any new apps of any sort. There
are four apps which I've written in DP and which are still being used by
some of my old customers. Two of these are used by real estate agents
for property valuations and for client billing. The other two are a
public sector budget control application and a reprographics costing
system. The only one which still regularly requires updating is the
real estate client billing system, which I originally wrote in 1988.
Strangely enough, I'm currently looking at yet another upgrade to that
application, which I hope to deliver to the customer next week.
But, as many on the list know, the bulk of my work these days is in
the field of disability and employment, where I seem to have established
something of a reputation over here.
