Hello Brendan,

I don't use DOS2USB and I have XP Pro but it should work as well on XP Home.
I also use PCL on my reports and it all works fine.

You'll need to define the printer as a shared device. Then add in your DP
batch file a net use line to assign lpt1 to that device's sharename (include
your computer's name). As a precaution, clear LPT1 first. For example:
net use lpt1: /delete
net use lpt1: \\computername\devicesharename

You can add other devices the same way by assigning to LPT2, etc.

Hope this works for you.

Ed

Hi Ralph,

Hope you and yours are well.

Yes, the redirection works fine and I can now print from DP with no
direct problems.

However, as you know, I use a printer control panel in my applications
and have printer definitions for quite a few legacy printers. At first
attempt, it appears that DOS2USB lets my printer control codes through
ok. But I haven't yet found a set of codes for my new printer and it
doesn't like my old Laserjet codes. I'll have to do some more digging
on this one.

Time to stop work for the rest of the weekend, though I imagine I won't
be able to leave this one alone on Sunday.

Cheers,

Brendan.
