Hi Ralph,
The intention is just to load the 1200 record file that wouldn't work in the
full database to an empty database. If it loads quickly without a problem
then it leaves size of database data or and index problem as the two
probable choices. If he has the same problem then I would assess the file
created from WP used for the import.

If it loads without a problem then I would copy the entire database to
another directory and delete 1/2 of the older data. then re-import the 1200
datafile into this one.

It may even be the operating system causing a problem with the handling of
the index and large file at the same time. If usinf windows XP I might
suggest using one of the older systems like Win2000 or vice versa.
