Hi Rich,

Yes 2.6x is generally necessary when you are working with XML output.

At the moment the Table of Contents and the View selections are hidden when you print, would you like an option for that to be displayed during print? The major reason I have even the view options is so I could selectively cut down the amount being printed, but it is quite easy to change that... Have I understood you correctly on that?

I think Ralph's recursive link is one of the best pieces of DP work I have seen... I toiled with that problem literally for years, however I was only using one link and kept getting all sort of inconsistencies, when I saw Ralph's solution and explanation it reinvigorated my love for DP.

Bye
Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the update. Since the ;;W option is involved, I would guess that version 2.6x is necessary. I had wondered about that.

As for field names, spaces, etc., I should know better. I ran into that problem with Access. I have only used the field names as a comment, so it has never been a problem.

And thinking back, because of the unique way that DP indexes and links, I was able to initially create panels and links without using an unique identifier; i.e.: number. It finally caught up with me, so I had to retro-fit ID numbers. Ralph Alvy's incrementing formula using the recursive link really helped with that.

I agree about DPLinks. It is hard to use the output, and as you say, doesn't show the actual link.

In the XML report, I like the check boxes for selecting the information shown. I wouldn't mind printing out that heading information. Maybe in the next tweak?

Thanks again

Rich

Thanks Rich,

I broke a cardinal sin and didn't ;;W the field name. I will update it immediately... I never use &'s or even spaces in field names, I keep fieldnames to just characters and number without punctuation, so it completely slipped by my thinking...

Thanks
Brian
