When my XP box was stolen on a trip, I replaced it with a W7 64bit. Trying to run DP on it was overwhelming. I talked to a hardware person who wanted to charge me >$500 to "try" to get DP running in a 32bit environment in W7. I ended up buying a refurbished XP laptop with MS Office 2003 for < $300 and use that one for DP stuff.

I'm wondering if this problem goes away if, on a W7 64-bit machine, I just install VMWare Player and install a 32-bit linux in that VM and run DP under dosemu. When I was running Linux full time, DP ran great under dosemu (better than under DOS itself). VMWare Player is free, by the way. So is Linuxa and dosemu.
