Hi all,
To run DP or any DOS program under 64 bit windows you need:
1) W7 Pro and download and install virtual XP
2) Run TameDos inside the virtual XP to keep CPU useage to a minimum
3) DPSpool or
4) DOS2USB

5) It sometimes helps to run DP from Office3.1 - seems to respond
better.
6) Good things about DPSpool is its ability to map to windows printers.
There are a number of sites we look after that still have DOS Hotel Booking
software and they work fine with all this.
Failing that if you can program in Delphi (any good programmer writing
programs for distribution uses Delphi or similar) we can come to an
arrangement with our delphi framework. One of the applications of that
framework was to replace our DP job management software. Or we can provide
custom solutions if your client need it.
>From that we designed a full business management suite with a two way real
time link to our accounting package. And then expanded it further to add
real time reporting for our managed services solution. We manage a number
of networks and were not happy with the Managed Service Solutions such as
Kaseya, Hound dog (now CFI max), Naverisk... so we built our own. One of
the beautiful things of having been raised on DP, is that I am used to
designing what I need.
