i am unable to parse your posting

"BYE Cannot connect to IMAP" is not a typical answer of telnt
nor one of dbmail - nor is 993 (imap over ssl) the port you
used in the telnet-command

so i am pretty sure this answer does NOT come from dbmail
sounds like any proxy listens on the network-interface

please provide the output of the following netstat-command:
netstat --numeric-hosts --numeric-ports --programs -u -t -l

Attachment: signature.asc
