Wow... I didn't even notice the port 993 in the message. I ran the netstat (see below), but the 993 got me to try running a test from the same network.
1. Telnet test fails from home. 2. I SSHed into a different system (the old mail server - 208.88.5.245) and tried from there. Telnet test success. 3. I SSHed into the new mail server (localhost). Telnet test success. The test (so far) only fails from my home. 4. Telnet test 208.88.5.245 is successful Therefore its not the configuration of my computer? # netstat --numeric-hosts --numeric-ports --programs -u -t -l Active Internet connections (only servers) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:10023 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 568/postgrey.pid -- tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:10024 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 365/amavisd (master tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:3306 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 207/mysqld tcp 0 0 208.88.4.232:143 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 21859/dbmail-imapd tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:143 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 21859/dbmail-imapd tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:783 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 606/spamd.pid tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 1266/apache2 tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 250/sshd tcp 0 0 208.88.4.232:24 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 21848/dbmail-lmtpd tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:24 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 21848/dbmail-lmtpd tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:5432 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 11945/postgres tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:25 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 13463/master tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:953 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 276/lwresd tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:6010 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 22780/0 tcp6 0 0 :::21 :::* LISTEN 1247/proftpd: (acce tcp6 0 0 :::22 :::* LISTEN 250/sshd tcp6 0 0 ::1:953 :::* LISTEN 276/lwresd tcp6 0 0 ::1:6010 :::* LISTEN 22780/0 udp 0 0 127.0.0.1:921 0.0.0.0:* 276/lwresd -- View this message in context: http://old.nabble.com/Novice%3A-imap-connection-refused-tp34593445p34593577.html Sent from the dbmail users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
