Acording to an install report (#233532) libparted automaticaly detects the LVM devices even now. For example if an user configures LVM using lvmcfg and afterwards from main-menu selects partman then the LVM devices will be visible in the main menu of partman as storage devices without partition table. In this sutuation the user should create in them partition table with type `loop' (it is provided by libparted to be used for LVM and RAID devices). A quick fix for LVM would involve 1. a new item in the main menu of partman which starts the postinst of lvmcfg from inside of partman and 2. partman automatically sets the loop partition table for the LVM and RAID deivices so that the user is not obliged to do this by hands (also libparted could do this automatically).
