If it is a bug to use upstream-provided cython-generated files, why it is not a bug to use upstream-provided setptools_scm generated files?
We have no way of correctly generating it without the git tree.EVerything else in egg-info we can generate. And that SOURCES.txt is a simple text file that's trivial to edit if we need to.
