Yes. As in the past, I used this setup (on different hardware) for the
last ~ 20 years, but I don't remember off-hand when I had to switch
from apt-cacher-ng to apt-cacher.

Well, sometime in the afternoon, after several restarts, it suddently
started downloading all packages. Since I ran out of time today (I
expected the download to be a matter of minutes, not hours), I will
perform the update probably on Sunday.

If you need any further diagnostics, log files, etc., I can provide
them until then.
