no need for sudo, this is enough: 

ip link ; ip addr

or even shorter:

        Holger, who hasn't really noticed this change much, depite maintaining
                *lots* of (different) stretch machines… as long as the machines
                are not routers but just desktops or laptops because then
                network-manager takes care anyway, and if I have a router I
                probably don't use Debian anyway and if I have multiple
                interfaces on a server I'm very happy about stable names…
                so, meh.
