But I also fail to see any announcement about this. Is the DFSG
team just not interacting with d-devel (or d-d-announce), i.e.
the one place we expect contributors to read?
I don't think that we want all our teams to inform the project
about everything they do. It'd be just one more medium that people
won't read.
If it affects uploading developers, then very much I expect
information from all our teams. For some of them I know which IRC
channels to check, but this is already suboptimal.
As discussed upthread, it seems it would have been a good idea to
have a *discussion* first. Then we also don't need an announcement.
But silence is not the right way here.
Should the DFSG team discuss EVERY tool they use with the general
public, or does that only apply to technologies like systemd, or which
MTA to use, or which editor they should use to write rejections?
Isn't this a strawman?
If the editor they use produces plaintext, if their MUA and MTA
produce interopable emails, then there is no change to developers.
If they start introducing new policies, rules, or things called out
in a GR for discussion, then yes, that should be discussed.
I doubt this is unreasonable.
