libgtk+2.0/png3...are we or aren't we

     Well ignoring xchat for the moment, what is the 
plan for imlib itself in sid. I noticed there was
an attempt to build it against libpng3-dev in the -5
version which got reversed in -6. However it is still
being built with libglib/gtk+1.2. What is upstreams
intention on this? I would think that a migration to
libglib/gtk+ 2.0 would be in the works no? Would there
be two different versioned copies of imlib? One for
glib/gtk+ 1.2 and one for 2.0?
