Experimental, not historic I think. draft-ietf-dnsext-ipv6-addresses-00.txt is trying to make RFCs 2874 and 2673 experimental. Currently both AAAA[RFC1886] and A6[RFC2874] are still proposed standards. Is that what you are referring to?
