curl is a big subject. While it's very useful to people who write scripts etc, on many platforms, the whole manual is aimed at programmers using it. Inevitably a lot of the information is quite detailed. If you're looking to learn more about one subject, getting distracted into learning about curl is possibly not a great idea!
