So do new ones :-)  I'm using one (last version, I think) with my Supermicro 
AMD64 Buster.  Alsamixer sees it and selects it, and Audaciy is happy with it.  
Linux seems to call it Scarlett.

It takes 1/4" phone jacks or XLR mic inputs, 1/4" TRS headphone jack, phantom 
power, 24 bit ADC, enough power from USB2.

I have no idea whether it works on 36 bit machines.  Nor do I know if you'd 
consider it "just works" but if you've played with USB 'sound cards' before, 
you probably do.  Good box.

And Amazon sells them.
