Hi Pocket Glad you have a winner :) For anyone else following along: a datum point. I've just done a minimal text installation of Debian in a virtual machine. No desktop environment installed: all options deselected apart from Standard install. At no point was Network Manager / nmcli / nmtui installed. isc-dhcp-client is installed as is bind9 client I'm guessing it is entirely possible that Network Manager was previously installed by something else or a previous configuration for Pocket.
