That would be clearer, yes, because the parent checkbox is what we call
*superfétatoire*.

It would also be nice to have succinct descriptions of the desktops,
like

   - [X] Gnome (forget about it if you don't have oodles of RAM and a
     modern CPU.
   - [ ] KDE (ditto)  
   - [ ] LXDE (lightweight desktop for discerning penguins).

etc. I have an old machine and couldn't run Gnome sensibly if I wanted
to, which is why I paid attention to that particular screen, as well as
to the partitioning screen (I went for manual with a home partition because
automatic partitioning allocates space to '/' with excessive parsimony).
