The blacklist will only increase the amount of spam that is caught, it
shouldn't be able to reduce the amount of spam that is caught.

It should show up in the SYS*.TXT log files when IMail doesn't accept an
E-mail in the Kill List, but I'm not sure what the entry looks like.
