My point WAS to aggravate your customers into aggravating their freinds and family who can complain to AOL. Only when the paying customers get fed up will AOL change its practices!!!
I actually refused to accept email (because of SPAM checks) from my inlaws until they changed from AOL to another ISP. Thats the kind of response I'm looking for!!! So if you put SPAMCOP HOLD you may end up holding a lot of AOL and compuserve mail from time to time. I think the weighting protocols are the only thing that work for us. Individual tests each have their own strengths and weaknesses. As far as the big bad AOL, that really is not the issue. If we start blocking aol mail the people most affected are our customers that can no longer communicate with their friends and family that use aol - my responsibility is to my customers. It also wastes alot of admin time sorting through all of the held emails and moving them to the que. I checked : on the ORDB.org website and listed the aol.com for lookup and did not find : it blocked by anyone.... course as was said before.. it could be because : people are afraid of the BIG BAD AOL.... well the only reason we dont do : more about AOL here.. is because we have customers that the only way they : can contact people is thru their friends/family's AOL account... : : Bennie : : ----- Original Message ----- : From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> : To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> : Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2002 12:38 AM : Subject: MISSING_REVERSE_DNS:RE: [Declude.JunkMail] IPSwitch email failed : SPAMCOP : : : > It seems to me that SpamCop black-lists any servers that reported spam : comes : > from. : > : > I stopped using spamcop because I found them black listing AOL servers and : > then mail from AOL customers is rejected.
