Because I don't have control over how my customers use their E-mail, i.e.
what server they send it through, and because many don't send it through
mine, including everyone who's ISP has blocked port 25 outbound, the only
type of record that I could use that would be of any value to others would
be "?all", meaning that E-mail from my domains can come from anywhere (and
it most certainly can of course).

Same problem here. 
For statistical research we keep record of incoming/outgoing # of messages
and bytes for every separate domain.
So I intended to create a daily script that add or removes SPF TXT records
for every local domain that has send at least one message in the last 7 days
trough our server. 

But:
Private DNS zones or upgrade to Imail v8
Script to add/remove SPF records
And this all for actualy less then 3% of all incoming messages...
