I  absolutely  agree  and  endorse the daemon-based SpamAssassin SPAMD
with custom rules and SPAMC32 (see my sig). With the daemon, the rules
are  only  loaded  once,  and  SA  SPAMD  3.0  has  shown  significant
improvements  over  2.6 in Windows. SPAMC32 has built-in "maximum size
to be scanned" and "skip scanning if current weight equals" directives
to further streamline the integration of a large ruleset.
