I'm a little late in this discussions, so bear with me if I ask something
that's already been covered...

Am I hearing correctly that, beginning with 2.0, licensing is tied to the
MAC address?

If so, what about those of us who load balance the traffic to the server
across multiple NICs? This is a must to avoid downtime due to failure of a
NIC (it's saved our bacon a couple of times).

Also, if a NIC is replaced, or we migrate to a different server, what is the
process the get a new license key...and is that available 24/7/365?

We absolutely need to be able to handle these situations immediately without
waiting until the next business day to get a new license key.

If you want to put a heartbeat in the product to ensure no abuse, fine, but
please don't tie licensing to a piece of hardware that may need to be
replaced in an emergency....or of you do, allow for an automated, always
available system to regenerate license keys as needed.

Darin.

That's another good reason not to use IPs. :) The 4 NICs could
potentially be a problem, though.

Don't worry; they have built-in failsafes to ensure that service won't be
interrupted.
