Obviously, you can't have your machine connected to all of those TCP/IP
networks at once (at least it's not what I needed), unless the packets are
being routed somehow somewhere.
The idea was different: I have got a laptop with a single ethernet card. I
have LAN at my work (say, 10.0.0.x addresses) and I have LAN at my home (e.g
192.168.0.x addresses). I would like to have those two newtork connections
(using Windows terminology) defined on my ethernet card and have the system
check, wich one has just been connected upon plugging-in the ethernet cable,
so that I don't have to manually change the connection properties. And I
don't have DHCP server neither at work, nor at home, so those networks have
to be set-up manually.
What's more, once I have such two (or more) networks defined, I could set-upo
some services running on my laptop accessible only from one of those
networks, without having to manually re-configure those services (whoch would
be the case if I would have the same address scope both at home and at work).
I have a strange feeling of drifting more and more OT here. ;)
