Moz and Darren

Thanks for your replies.

All I know so far is that the people who are requesting the software say they
will build an interface which will emit a single signal or a series of signals
at a
frequency that can be varied, and the intention is that it should connect via
the RS232 (serial) port. The electrical "motor" in question, btw, is a
syringe-pump.
They've asked me to go along to the workshop next week to discuss the interface
with them - not sure how much I'll be able to contribute!
I should be able to get a more detailed spec then.

Any suggestions, anyone?

At the moment I'm just looking for/at articles on the web that might help give
me a little background, but as I said before this is completely uncharted
waters for me
so any pointers at all will be gratefully received.

Many thanks
Steve
