André,
Although I've never used it myself I've also heard several people preferring DARCS as a CVS replacement. Hi Cosmin I'm off to check out JediVCS. We're a team of 3 developers too and sometimes it can be a headache keeping everyone up to date. I will give some feed back to the forum. I have looked at CVS and have not had the time to read the manual to set it up. So I hope this will be easy! All I really want to do is program. Grate subject line! It's so easy to forget making backup DVDs (I call those "useless diks" because I usually write them but never use them :-) ) If you're after version control, take a look at JediVCS; It's FREE and works fine. I never used any other so I can't make a comparasion, but it deffinitively works fine for my small team (3 developers). Also keep in mind there are cheep IDE RAID cards and there's "junction"! I've got a "Sefe drive" (s:) that's actually a mirror RAID array and I've "junction'ed" all of my normal working directoryes to this drive. Ofcours, this will only protect you from hardware malfunction, not from accidental deleting or viral damage. An other point to keep in mind: if the computer that host your VCS is the same as your developement machine AND on the same disk, you're not getting any level of protection... Good luck! > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:delphi-talk- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Andre van Zuydam > Sent: Tuesday, December 13, 2005 8:46 PM > To: Delphi-Talk Discussion List > Subject: MAKE BACKUPS OF YOUR SOFTWARE!!! > > Thanks for all the feedback on the help files guys. > > I found the comments and advice encouraging - I'm not really fond of > starting the help file but once I get stuck in I'll see it through and > maybe submit a URL so you everyone can check it out. > > I experienced a disk crash Monday which really messed up my development. > I > didn't really see it coming but managed to make a recovery of sorts > (Lost all my games, but who needs that!).
