No, I didn't miss the intended sarcasm of the original remark. It just
triggered me into trying to find out what others though about the future of
Delphi.

One thought that I didn't put down in my original posting was that for
Delphi to survive it must surely attract new developers. With C# offering
all of the advantages and more, why would new Windows developers choose
Delphi?

Out of curiosity, how many of the languages in your list were available 10
years ago? 10 years ago I recall developing in assembler, C and Occam. I
moved onto C++, found VB revolutionary and then became an early Delphi
adopter. Each of the languages brought new advantages that I welcomed.
Personally I would be disappointed if we were are still using the languages
of today in 10 years time! It would mean that there had been little change
in the computer field...
