hmm... Don't know the exact line counts, but I know of at least one system
that my boss wrote almost single-handed that spans at least 200k lines of
C++. And no doubt we could find plenty of other such examples. I don't
think there's much point though... it doesn't really prove anything except
that some people are in desperate need of some extra hands around the office

Personally I don't use Delphi (much). I use Borland C++ Builder - Delphi
with a C++ compiler mated to it. I dabble in a little OP when I need to
(components and so forth), but all said I would take C++ over Pascal any day
of the week. When we first started using Delphi I thought it was ok - nice
interface, some cute ideas, shame about the language. Then when Builder
came out I was over the moon.
The point though is that everyone has their preference when it comes to
languages. I don't want to (and won't) get into an argument about which is
better, because it's too much about personal preference. I prefer C++, you
prefer Pascal, Bob Bond down the road likes to hack around in pure,
unadulterated assembler. Which is better? The one that you personally are
most comfortable and productive with.
