This simply a statement that you need cost/benefit considerations in buying a tool.
The higher the cost and the benefit need to be that much as well. (Earning Dentists
rates would be a good start...). I dont doubt some software houses or corporates
will get this - not us though.

The real hassle with Delphi, is that component industry which has a lot to do with
the underlying success of Delphi, kind of forces you to upgrade sooner or later.
Rewriting someones code around the latest little language extensions used is a
royal pain. eg doing without overloaded methods if converting D5 to D3. DCUs
arent compatiable across versions so only other choice is ActiveX controls which
are both foul and uncommon. I'll be upgrading my D5 to D6 Professional promptly
but sticking with my D3 C/S I think.
