Good point. :) But the point I was trying to make is that everytime you change your deisgn or release a new "version" of your electronic device you have to re-apply for the ISO standard and pay fees again to get the certification. Much in the same way that I assume Palladium will work.
It was in reply to David Brennan's comment: "...We don't want to have to contact some US company and pay several thousand dollars each time to have our latest executable certified..." -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Nello Sestini Sent: Monday, 12 August 2002 1:43 p.m. To: Multiple recipients of list delphi Subject: Re: [DUG]: Palladium - a concern for developers? > In my mind its just like developing electronic devices and making them fit > the ISO standards, should we all revolt against the ISO standards for making > us have to pay them every time we develop and electronic device?? I think > not. not "just like". ISO is a consortium - presumably beyond the control of any one company and has no economic "self-interest" motivation. ISO decisions are made by the community. I think MS will retain control of palladium.
