I found that two seperate video card was the way to go. I've tried Matrox and Ati dual
head cards and experienced problems when maximising a form - they maximised over both
monitors. After some fidling with settings you can stop this, but pop-up windows still
appeared centered between the two monitors.

I currently have an Ati Agp card that came with the PC and a Matrox Pci card driving a
couple of 17" LCD monitors.

W2K and XP should support multiple monitors straight away.

You'll either need a video card with two outputs or two video cards.  Apart from that, don't think you need anything else.

Once Windows finds your new video card (i.e. you've got the hardware installed), you can use the Control Panel Display Settings Applet, Settings tab, to tell Windoze to use both monitors.

That's about it.  Simple.

Good luck,

Conor

I have a spare monitor at home. Might try bringing it in to work and trying the dual screen thing. How do I set this up (physically - i.e. cables) and s/w wise?
