I wish there is lord of the ring existing in the programming language to rule them all ;-). But it just like normal life, no one tool will suit anything. Just get used to using multiple tools should be fine. For normal windows application, I think Delphi is great. For Linux platform, wrote in C/C++ in KDevelope is not that hard.
