I've had both Delphi 5 and Delphi 7 running fine on Windows 7, so I expect
Delphi 6 PE will run fine.

There are some things you have to do to get over UAC. The first article that
explained what to do was this excellent one
http://www.drbob42.com/examines/examin84.htm Although this was for Vista,
the steps also apply to Windows 7 and 10 and the article covers pretty much
everything you need to do.

I now have Delphi 7 running fine with Windows 10, by the way.

There is a lot of advice out on the web on how to get it all running.

Best regards,
       Brendan Blake.

Subject: Still stuck in the 90s

I learned Delphi 3 by writing this novelty game many years ago that I have
tweaked intermittently over the years for my own education.

Well, Delphi 3 won't install on my Win7x64 laptop but I had a copy of Delphi
6 Personal Edition also from many years ago. So I'm migrating to Delphi 6.

Are there any things in particular that 'break' when you move a project from
Delphi 3 to Delphi 6? Are there any tips or things to look out for? Or is
Delphi 6 totally backwards-compatible with Delphi 3?
