Yes; Delphi 6 was a crummy version, with lots of broken parts, though I don't remember which ones broke it was so many years ago.
Delphi 7 was a great one, and I still use it on Windows 10, as I did on Windows 7 and 8. I suggest you use 7 for that reason.
